A dental implant is a titanium screw surgically inserted into the jawbone, serving as an artificial tooth root. A porcelain crown is then fixed to this screw — the result is barely distinguishable from a natural tooth. Unlike conventional bridges, no adjacent teeth need to be ground down.

Who is a candidate for implants?
